What does your chamber do for you?

We answer your mail: The chamber of commerce replies to many inquiries about the area and about your business. We answer telephone, mail, e-mai, and online inquiries about the Monroe County region on a daily basis. The chamber of commerce is the "front door" to the Monroe County region. 

We assist you with surveys, etc.: We assist new, emerging, and existing businesses with surveys and projects on an as needed basis. 

We arrange seminars and public meetings on topics of interest: From retail to small business seminars to forums such as "Understanding the Affordable Care Act", we are here to prove useful, invaluable information to our members. The chamber of commerce also sponsors "Leadership Now", a community education and leadership program. 

We have a small business center, through the Alabama Entrepreneurial Research Network (AERN): These resources are here to assist the general public. We assist you with finding financing for your projects, as well as help you find resources to accomplish your business and marketing plans. 

We are your ambassador: We write articles for newpapers and magazines, assist travel writers in their inquiries about the area, conduct tours, develop advertising and commercials about the area, and work in many ways to generate new business for the community. 

We are your voice in the community: We lobby for civic movements, such as the Ant-Litter and Recycling campaigns, whose objective is to benefit the entire county. The chamber is a centralized organization in which you and your fellow business people can join together to promote mutually beneficial projects. 

We plan events to promote the area: We host travel groups, conduct tours, and have numerous special events through out the year, such as The Taste of Monroeville and Market, The Monroeville Christmas Parade, Outdoor Movie Night, etc. 

We are your window on the worldwide web: The chamber of commerce maintains this webpage, and we provide each member with an abundance of online tools to promote your business. The chamber of commerce website is "Your Community on Display". 

We are your lobbyist: We work hard for our community spearheading such projects as the El Camino East/West Corridor, US Highway 84 Four Lane project. We maintain information on local, state, and federal government representatives. 

We are your information source: We maintain information on major employers, employment, demographics, taxes, state business incentives, available buildings, and new and emerging businesses. 

We conduct community development forums: We have conducted 19 years of "Leadership Now" programs and often host civic groups and conduct community forums. The chamber was also active in founding "Youth Leadership Monroe County" in partnership with Alabama Cooperative Extension/ Monroe County Chapter. 

In addition, the Chamber of Commerce facilitates the following: Welcome packages, visitor packages, relocation packages, information center, business-to-business e-mails, membership directory (both online and print), quarterly calandar of events, chamber/area magazine, Outdoor Monroe County magazine, ribbon cuttings, membership dinner, other membership events, referrals, etc.
